This one-day Governance Masterclass is for those working in the public, private or note-for-profit sectors is a combination of education, practical training and networking and is a must attend course for women in governance.

The Governance Masterclass is limited to 30 participants.

There are four content topics – governance essentials, financial literacy, CV preparation, board recruitment and networks, and personal leadership development. Topics include:

  • Governance essentials, director’s roles and responsibilities, how to be a productive board member, trends in governance
  • Demystifying financial accounts and introduction to accounting principles
  • Financial strategies, what to look for and what to ask about finances
  • Personal leadership including how to navigate board room behaviours and strategies to separate the behaviour from the person
  • Gaining a better understanding who you are and how to have the confidence to be yourself in the board room
  • Preparing for a board role, CVs, how to capitalise on your personal brand and profile
  • Recruitment processes, interview technics and the pathway to board appointments
  • Networks and mentors
