Membership Types

Chartered Associate (ACG) or Chartered Fellow (FCG) membership provides you with membership and access to the global Chartered Governance Institute network. It provides you with the Chartered Secretary or Chartered Governance Professional designations.

Membership Journey

Affiliate to Associate or Fellow

Criteria to advance

Affiliated members can advance their membership to Associate or Fellow if they fulfil the following criteria:

  • Have completed the International Chartered Governance Programme; or
  • Meet the exemptions criteria for Associate or Fellow membership; and
  • Have 6-10 years experience in governance and risk management.

To advance from Affiliated to Associate, you will need to fill out a new membership application and provide an updated CV with your application. You may be required to pay the difference in fees between Affiliated and Associate or Fellow membership before your advancement is completed.

Associate to Fellow

Criteria to advance

Associates can advance to Fellow membership if they fulfil the following criteria:

  • Have completed the International Chartered Governance Programme; or
  • Meet the criteria for exemption; and 8 years experience in governance or risk management; or
  • Have 10 years of experience in governance or risk management (professional entry pathway)

To advance from Associate to Fellow, you will need to fill out a new membership application and provide an updated CV with your application. You may be required to pay the difference in fees between Affiliated and Associate or Fellow membership before your advancement is completed.
