Diversity disclosures show engagement with the concepts but lack of clarity as to what should be disclosed

An independent report from KPMG on the adoption by ASX listed companies of the ASX Corporate Governance Council's recommendations relating to gender diversity shows that the majority of entities have developed diversity policies. Not surprisingly, the larger the entity, the more likely it is to have disclosed measurable objectives.

But a broad interpretation of the term 'measurable objective' shows in the results, with some interpretations so vague that it is unclear how the entities can report on progress against them over time.
