Sharpening the focus of public sector performance

The Australian Government has taken on board feedback from stakeholders in setting out its thoughts on how to modernise the Commonwealth's financial and performance framework. CSA were pleased to see that their three broad recommendations of adopting a principles-based approach to governance in the public sector; introducing professionalism and directorship into public sector oversight and strategic planning; and creating public value to drive better performance across the whole of government were largely incorporated into the propositions the government is suggesting.
