The letter by Lehman whistle-blower

Few figures have reaped any praise from the court-appointed examiner's report into Lehman Brothers. But if there's one person who has looked good in the mess, it's Matthew Lee.

In May 2008, Mr. Lee, then a senior vice president overseeing Lehman's global balance sheet, sent a letter to senior management detailing several problems with the firm's accounting. The letter doesn't mention Repo 105, the aggressive bookkeeping practice that Mr Lee told Lehman auditor Ernst & Young about one month later, though it mentions several other issues.
