Gender diversity - new reporting requirements and ongoing pipeline failure

Amendments brought by the Australian Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 have introduced annual reporting requirements for non-public sector employers, with more than 100 employees, in relation to their compliance with a set of gender equality indicators:

  • gender composition of the workforce
  • gender composition of governing bodies
  • equal remuneration of men and women
  • flexible working arrangements and arrangements to support employees with family or caring responsibilities
