Chairperson - Skills4Work

Skills4Work is a not for profit private training establishment (PTE). The PTE provides training and capability development across a range of industries and sectors. A significant part of the business has been dedicated to the training of apprentice butchers and bakers in the Foodstuffs group and the provision of distance learning services.

Skills4Work seek expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons to serve as Chairperson for the Skills4Work Board.

The background sought is:

• Experienced professional director.
• A high standard of and reputation for personal ethics and professionalism.
• Experience and ability to lead the Board and CEO in creating a strong strategic vision and direction for the organisation and lead the team consistently towards achieving this vision.
• Solid experience in corporate governance and chairing of meetings.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen to ensure a sustainable organisation.
• Determination and ability to set high performance standards for both the Board and organisation as a whole.
• A passion for training and education and an empathy with the aims of a not for profit incorporated society with charitable status.
• A consultative style yet with the ability to make tough decisions when required.

This is a paid position and the term of the appointment is 3 years. Applicants must live in the Auckland region. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in early December.
