Committee for New Zealand & New Zealand Division and CSNZ Board Vacancies in 2013

Members are invited to consider the election of Members domiciled in the Northern [2] Central [1] and Southern [2] for nomination to The Committee for New Zealand & The New Zealand Division, and incumbent with that appointment automatic election to the Board of Chartered Secretaries New Zealand Inc.

Clauses 7.1 and 7.2 of the Rules with respect to The Committee for New Zealand & The New Zealand Division define the geographic boundaries of each Electoral Area [as has been described] and Clauses 7.2 determines the total numbers of representatives [ Northern 3, Central 2, and Southern 2].

Clause 7.7.1 requires that Nomination Paper signed by the member and supported by two other members be lodged at the Office of the Executive by 31 August immediately preceding the date of the election, namely 31 August 2012. The nominating members must live in the same electoral area as the nominee.

Clause 9.2 of the Rules for Chartered Secretaries New Zealand Inc. state the Board shall comprise the Members of the Committee for New Zealand, and Clauses 10.1 and 10.2 define the Electoral Area and numbers for Board representation in an identical manner as the Committee for New Zealand. Once appointed to The Committee for New Zealand the member is automatically appointed to the Board for Chartered Secretaries New Zealand Inc.

A member of the Committee and the Board must be a Fellow of the Institute and a nominating member can be either a Fellow or an Associate. For the Nomination Paper ... READ MORE . Committee and Board representation provide the opportunity for leaders within the membership to shape the policy and direction of the New Zealand Division and to provide material inputs to advance the core values. Nominees should embrace internationalism, nationalism and ideally seek leadership roles within the New Zealand Division and its influence in advancing responsible corporate citizenship.

The two vacancies in the Northern Electoral Area arise from one [1] existing vacancy and Kerry Heath FCIS and current Vice President is retiring by rotation and is offering herself for re-election.

The one [1] vacancy in the Central Area arises from the resignation of David Jones FCIS because of family health reasons.

The two [2] vacancies in the Southern Electoral Area arise from one [1] existing vacancy and retirement of Rosemary Watson FCIS who has served her full terms.
