Board Secretary - The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind

If you thrive working at a very senior level, have experience with governance structures, are skilled in providing the spectrum of support required at Board level, and desire to make a difference, then this opportunity to work with this iconic not-for-profit Board could be for you.

Working at Executive and Board level, you will have a working knowledge of governance processes and managing the tasks associated with Board matters and functioning, and building relationships and influencing at a high level. You will have a reputation for being organised and applying good judgement, and with an eye for detail balanced with a big picture perspective.

Reporting to the Board Chair, this role will work closely with the Chief Executive's office to ensure full support is given to the Boards needs and associated tasks. You will have full accountability for supporting the Board and Chair's varied needs, from running governance processes, organising and communicating agendas, taking minutes at board meetings, to organising travel and accommodation.

Experience working at a very senior level is essential, and an affinity for the not-for-profit arena is preferred. As this role is a part time position of 24 hours per week, it may suit some who requires flexibility or who has other commitments. There will be some flexibility required on occasion, although the bulk of time requirements will be known in advance and can be planned for. This is a stand-out opportunity to contribute for someone who is pro-active and responsive, and with a strong customer ethic and follow through.

The RNZFB has a strong reputation and vision, centred on making a difference in the lives of Blind and partially sighted New Zealanders. If you want to be part of making a difference in the lives of these New Zealanders, this is the opportunity for you to make a contribution then we would love to hear from you.

Applications including a Cover Letter and current CV should be sent to Peter Swanson [PSwanson@rnzfb.org.nz] by the close of business on Monday 26 March 2012. The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind is committed to a policy of EEO and Biculturalism.
