Bill introduced to improve gender equality and streamline diversity reporting

The Australian Government has introduced the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Amendment Bill 2012 to Parliament. The introduction of the bill follows on from extensive consultation and a review of the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999. In future, the emphasis will be on results and improving them, and greater transparency, having regard to equality indicators in the Act and other benchmarks to be developed.
