Overview

A well run meeting saves time and money, increases motivation and productivity, and helps an organisation reconnect with its strategic intent. This two hour workshop offers practical guidance on the core functions of meetings, minute-taking and recording resolutions. Governance New Zealand’s expert guidance on meeting procedures and other sources of information will be used during the course.

  • Organising the meeting – pre and post
  • Creating a board Work Programme and why it’s important
  • How to ensure the agenda flows and is relevant
  • Taking good minutes – what to record and when
  • Action points – including a detailed template
  • Board inductions – key documents
  • Documenting risk – detailed template included

Presenter

Angela Booth

Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Huddersfield (UK). She achieved a Chartered Secretary qualification in New Zealand.

With over 20 years’ experience at Senior Management, Angela is very familiar with the nuances of not-for-profits, charities and membership led organisations. She is a trusted advisor to boards, and regularly facilitates trainings for boards, board secretariat teams and management.

Angela has managed governance in a variety of organisations both profit and not-profit.
