Shamubeel Eaqub will discuss the economic outlook including the drivers, risks and opportunities. He will also discuss the broader and deep-seated economic forces are speeding up change. This has real implications for businesses and regions of New Zealand.

Shamubeel Eaqub, NZIER
Shamubeel is currently Principal Economist at the NZ Institute of Economic Research (NZIER), an independent economic consultancy. In this role, he forecasts the economy, provides macroeconomic advice to NZIER's members, and works as a consultant.  He is a respected and often controversial economist advising senior leaders in both the private and public sectors. 

Growing up in Canterbury and now living in Wellington, Shamubeel holds a BCOM with Honours in Economics from Lincoln University and has co-authored a book, titled "The New Zealand Economy: An Introduction" aimed at high school students. Shamubeel is a member of the CFA Institute, the Institute of Directors and NZ Asian Leaders.
