Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009

Seminar

The AML/CFT Act came into full force on 30 June 2013, and with it a number of important obligations binding on financial institutions and other categories of "reporting entity".

A second tranche of legislation is expected to extend the Act to catch most lawyers, conveyancing practitioners, accountants and real estate agents involved in financial transactions on behalf of their clients as from mid-2015. This presentation will examine who is (and who is likely to be) caught by the Act, identify the key obligations and provide some thoughts on how to comply.
