There are two levels of chartered membership: Associate, denoted by the post-nominals ACG (formerly ACIS) and Fellow, which uses the post-nominals FCG (formerly FCIS).

Senior chartered members who have acquired a greater level of experience and responsibility within the profession. Fellows are members of both Governance New Zealand and the Chartered Governance Institute.
