The Effective Director Series is a sharply focused three-day programme delivering critical content in a condensed period of time. It is designed for busy directors who want to gain skills and knowledge that can be put into immediate practice.

Each session will include a mix of presentations, discussions, case studies and simulated situations. On successful completion you will receive the Governance New Zealand Effective Director Certificate.

Armed with this, you will be well placed to address any challenges and opportunities arising from your directorships with new-found confidence and skill.

Presenters

Peter Crow, Governance - Day 1

Peter is an accredited company director, advisor and educator with an extensive international record helping elevate organisational performance. Contributions include service on the boards of private companies, family firms and social enterprises; advice to boards, institutions and governments; delivery of director education and post-graduate courses; speaking and writing; and governance research. He holds a doctorate in governance and strategy and is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors.


Henri Eliot, Risk & Strategy - Day 2

Henri Eliot has retired from more boards and institutes than most people have joined, so founding Board Dynamics in 2009 was a logical step. He now uses his experience to help boards function at their peak.

Henri has an international education and broad experience. He holds a LLB (Hons) from the University of London, BA (Distinction) from McGill University, MBA from Richmond University, Master’s in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland, a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and a Master’s degree in Sustainability Leadership, both from the University of Cambridge. Bill Ross, Finance - Day 3

Bill is currently a self-employed business consultant and company Director. He currently runs his own consulting business which includes business advisory, accounting and board governance. He has previously been a partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants in London, been in various financial and general management roles and has spent the last fifteen years in a business advisory capacity. He has had experience in CA practices, importing and distribution, FMCG, logistics and freight forwarding, produce exporting and also in public floats and the sale and acquisition of private businesses. Governance New Zealand confirms this event qualifies for 7.5 CPD structured credits per day based on 1 credit per hour of attendance

Vaccination Policy

When Auckland moves in to the COVID-19 Protection Framework, all visitors to the hotel, including for Accommodation, Banquet and Events, Chuan Spa visitors or restaurant/bar patrons at Eight Restaurant, Chandelier Lounge or Our Land is Alive, must provide proof upon arrival of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Only fully vaccinated guests or guests who have an official medical exemption will be permitted entry into the hotel. Children over 12 years must be fully vaccinated, while children under 12 years do not need to be vaccinated if accompanied by fully vaccinated adults. Evidence can be shown through yourMy Covid Record, which can be accessed through your My Health Account.

This vaccine mandate also includes all colleagues working at the hotel, in line with the government’s announcement of mandatory vaccination settings for the hospitality sector, under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework. Effective 1 December 2021, all staff working at Cordis Auckland will be fully vaccinated.
