Session One Overview

The rapidly evolving information and technology landscape is putting many directors and governing bodies to the test, both in New Zealand and globally. Carolynn will provide insights and practical advice on how to use IT governance as an enabler for organisational achievement.

This workshop will:

  • Identify the IT Governance practice areas which their organisations should have in place;
  • Outline the behaviours of ethical and effective leaders and managers in this regard;
  • Interpret IT Governance principles into management practices;
  • Distinguish between governance and compliance and explain the importance of this distinction to their organisations;
  • Formulate an understanding of the impact of emerging technologies on their organisation’s governance practices.

Carolynn Chalmers

Carolynn is an IT governance facilitator based in South Africa who regularly presents at the Institute of Directors and the Board of Institute of It Professionals. She has extensive management and governance experience and has held various board and executive roles for international, listed and unlisted organisations.
