Reciprocal Membership through study - ICSI / ICSA MoU

Members of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) who hold Associate or Fellow status and have been a fully paid-up member in good standing for a minimum of two years, are able to study with Governance NZ in order to gain the Chartered Secretary qualification, and the Chartered Governance Professional qualification, thereby acquiring membership of both the Chartered Governance Institute (previously known as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA)) and of Governance NZ Inc..

Background - the ICSI/ICSA MOU

The Chartered Governance Institute (formerly ICSA) and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) have supplemented their 1998 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that recognises the common interest both Institutes have in promoting best practice in ‘Company Secretaryship’. Both Institutes wish to encourage greater contact between their two organisations and to make reciprocity of membership more accessible for members of both organisations.

The supplements to the MOU recognise the new qualifying programmes that each Institute has recently implemented as well as streamlining administrative requirements.

Members of the ICSI can now study with the Governance New Zealand (GNZ), and members of CGI can study with the ICSI at a range of centers in India.

Members of GNZ can find out more about applying for membership with ICSI on the ICSI website.

Members of ICSI can visit the ICSI website an access further information - Guidance for ICSI members on the ICSI website
