Each semester a prize for academic excellence is awarded to the student achieving the highest overall mark. Recognition of this prize is acknowledged in the Governance New Zealand Inc. Annual Report.
The Semester One 2021 award went to Susan Webb (pictured) of Auckland who achieved an impressive result of 89% in her Corporate Governance paper.
Susan currently sits on the Board of Cardrona Distillery Holdings Ltd, Heilala Vanilla Ltd and Urban Events Ltd. Susan says that after spending five years in the USA, the GNZ programme has provided a comprehensive refresher on the New Zealand regulatory environment and international best practice. She added, “The breadth of the Governance syllabus avoids the “cut and paste” approach to governance that has become too common in New Zealand boardrooms.”
