Pivoting your career towards governance

It's not just the millennials who need to equip themselves for many different careers. Jackie Lloyd shares the key decision points that led her from a senior executive role, into consulting and on to a full-time governance portfolio. Why governance? Getting started. Jackie Lloyd BA BCom CMInsD

Jackie is a non-executive director and advisor. Her governance appointments include Deputy Chair of New Zealand Post Group, Chair of Wellington Museums Trust, trustee of the Lion Foundation and member of the WelTec Whitireia Combined Council. Jackie also serves on advisory committees for AgResearch, New Zealand Defence Force and the State Services Commission.

Jackie’s specialist expertise is in large scale business transformation, particularly in disrupted industries. She previously served as Global Human Resources Director for the New Zealand Dairy Board and NZMP Fonterra, and subsequently as a consultant and New Zealand country manager for Hewitt Associates and The Gallup Organization. Jackie is a member of the Institute of Directors in NZ and Global Women.

Experienced Professional Director, Melissa Clark-Reynolds, will share her wealth of knowledge on developing your own pathway towards a successful career in governance.

Melissa Clark-Reynolds ONZM

Melissa has become a Professional Director after 25 years experience as an entrepreneur and in the business startup community. She has been a CEO of a number of Technology companies, and serves in a number of governance roles. She is on the Board of Governors for Radio NZ, sits on the Boards of ACCURO (as an elected Member), Jasmax and Softed. Melissa is a Member of MPI's Primary Growth Partnership Investment Advisory Panel and Chairs the LINZ Risk & Audit Committee.

She is a Finalist in this year's Women of Influence Awards, and was awarded the ONZM for services to Technology.
