A Welcome New Face for Women on Boards

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Tania Te Whenua BA/LLB ACG (Tūhoe, Whakatōhea) to the Women on Boards Executive Committee.

Tania is principal of Te Whenua Law and Consulting, a local government development contributions commissioner, a member of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council Rivers Advisory Body, and a board member of Recreation Aotearoa and Kai Rotorua.

Tania brings with her an extensive array of governance skills and a total commitment to balancing the inequity of Māori women in governance and leadership.

Women on Boards New Zealand was incorporated as a business unit of Governance New Zealand in mid-2015. This association is viewed as an exciting and obvious fit for both organisations, which can only serve to enhance the promotion and advancement in supporting gender diversity in the governance space.
