Dr Rosanne Hawarden FCIS

Dr Rosanne Hawarden has been a Chartered Governance Professional and member of the international Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) for nearly 30 years. She is currently the Past President of Governance New Zealand and is the New Zealand representative on the CGI Global Thought Leadership Group. She has degrees in nursing and midwifery, human resources, and information technology. She holds a Doctorate in Business and Administration and is an internationally recognised scholar in diversity on boards of directors. As an entrepreneur in ERP software, she recently sold the 20-year-old company she started, SYSPRO New Zealand Ltd, representing a large international software house specialising in manufacturing and accounting (ERP) systems.

In the health sector Rosanne’s board experience includes nine years on the Medical Radiation and Imaging Technology board and the board of Medical Sciences Secretariat Ltd. She was appointed in July this year to the Assurance and Risk Committee of the New Zealand Customs Service. Her governance contribution has been recognised with increasing responsibility on the boards on which she has served, including a Civic Award from the Christchurch City Council for community services.
