CSNZ Professional Education Programme

The Professional Education Programme is administered directly by Chartered Secretaries New Zealand Inc. and is available to students residing anywhere in New Zealand.

This programme is an ideal course for any professional aspiring to a senior career in governance and risk management or any senior executive and/or board director position.

The programme is made up of six modules, each of 12 weeks duration. The number and type of modules that you are required to complete are determined by your degree or professional qualification. To find out if you qualify for an exemption of any of the modules, forward your current cv and academic transcript to the programme coordinator Lee Edmands for review.

Modules are delivered by distance learning. Comprehensive study notes and the online classroom provide necessary learning support in lieu of face-to-face teaching.

Each module includes a one day weekend workshop conducted by senior academics and practitioners who provide a balance of actual work-based advice.

The weekend workshop provides

  • an opportunity for students to discuss in detail practical case studies relating to previous sections of study
  • a chance to evaluate your progress
  • an opportunity to meet with peers from diverse commercial backgrounds

Travel and accommodation costs to attend the weekend school are at the students own expense.
